Pema, (66) is a widow from Dhunche VDC. She will never forget 2015, the year the earthquake hit.
She lost her stepson and her house in the earthquake. Being alone she had to fend for herself, as there is no one to provide any financial or emotional support.
Pema’s age makes living in the temporary shelter difficult and started to take a toll on her health.
The GOAL emergency response team has provided her with a kitchen set, blanket, mattress, tarps and corrugated galvanized iron sheet to restoring dignity and a sense of calm to her life.
Bharati (25) is from Rasuwa. She lost her husband to typhoid two years ago and so is left to care for her son and daughter alone.
Bharati has struggled to feed and educate her children. The situation was aggravated by the persistent skin problem, restricting her ability to work under the sun. The devastating earthquake in Nepal last April compounded her grief. Her house collapsed before her eyes.
GOAL’s emergency response team, working tirelessly, intervened and provided her with family kits, dignity kits, tarps, corrugated galvanized iron, kitchen set and mattress. Helping to enhance her everyday life.
