Advocacy Strategy

Amplifying the Voices of the World's Most Vulnerable Communities

At GOAL, we understand advocacy as the intentional effort to influence change and action at local, national and international levels in pursuit of our vision for a world beyond humanitarian crises where poverty no longer exists, where vulnerable communities that are exposed to shocks and stresses are resilient, where barriers to well-being are removed and where everyone has equal rights and opportunities.

Advocacy Strategy 2025

Advocacy is central to the achievement of our mission to strengthen the systems in which communities live and work, build resilience to crises and alleviate suffering. In alignment with our programmatic activities, our Advocacy strategy outlines GOAL’s intention to deepen our advocacy in three key areas through a gender- sensitive and climate crisis lens

  • Humanitarian crises
  • Resilient health and
  • Food and nutrition security (including Blue Economy)

GOAL’s new organisational Strategy 2025, ‘From Crisis to Resilience,' provides further opportunity to strengthen our approach to advocacy and ensure a coherent whole-organisational approach to amplify our impact.

Our Publications

In addition to our programme work GOAL produces Position and Discussion Papers highlighting key issues and opportunities to strengthen national and international policies and systems in line with our Advocacy Strategy 2025. This, in turn, helps to ensure the communities we support can live more resilient lives in a more equal, fair and sustainable world.

Working across 14 countries, we use insights from our programmes to amplify the voices of the vulnerable communities we work with. This supports our engagement with stakeholders at home and abroad, including Governments, policymakers, donors, the private sector, academic institutions and civil society.
