Leading Irish business figures joined GOAL’s annual 54km Corporate Cycle.

Today (September 15th) marks GOAL’s annual Corporate Cycle. Over 50 leading executives from the banking, legal, consulting, recruitment, energy, telecommunications, technology, media, and retail sectors saddled up in the rain and cycled over 50 kilometres to support GOAL’s humanitarian work in 13 countries across Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and Ukraine.

The cycle began at the Royal Irish Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire. Cyclists hugged the southern coast until they reached the vibrant Dublin Docklands. After passing through the city, participants pedalled towards Howth along Dublin’s beautiful coastline, cycling through Clontarf and around Howth summit before returning to Dun Laoghaire.

AIB, the lead sponsor of GOAL’s flagship and much-loved Christmas fundraiser, the GOAL Mile, participated in the cycle. Joining them were CEOs and senior executives from Meta, EY, Vodafone, RECRUITERS, Dublin Port, Applegreen, Flogas Enterprises, BT, Gordon Judge LLP, Code Institute, Core, Premier Sports, and SureSkills.

Speaking in advance of the cycle, GOAL CEO Siobhan Walsh said: “For over 40 years, GOAL’s humanitarian work has been empowered by the generosity of our corporate partners. As the economic landscape inevitably becomes more dynamic and demanding, GOAL remains eternally grateful to our corporate partners for their continued support – in both rain and shine. We’re delighted to see representatives from such a rich and diverse range of sectors participating in this year’s cycle, and we encourage participants to seize the opportunity to forge invaluable connections between the businesses they represent.

“As humanitarian crises continue to increase in number, magnitude, and complexity around the globe, GOAL’s work has never been more important. Last year, GOAL reached over 14.6 million people across 14 countries in Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and Ukraine. This year, GOAL has responded to the catastrophic Türkiye-Syria earthquakes and to the ongoing and relentless conflict in Sudan. This lifesaving work is only possible due to the generosity and kindness of our supporters, donors, and corporate partners, represented here today.”
