GOAL's work
GOAL’s purpose is to save lives and empower communities to develop resilience and greater control over their lives and livelihoods. GOAL aims to increase the resilient wellbeing of the world’s poorest people and focuses on those who are excluded or marginalised, particularly those who are vulnerable due to socio-economic status, gender or age. Learn more about GOAL's work in action.
GOAL responds to emergencies by providing immediate life-saving relief such as food, water, shelter, and medical care. We also work on long-term recovery and resilience-building projects to help communities rebuild and prepare for future crises.
GOALies support vulnerable communities to withstand crises. Helping to build resilience, health, nutrition, food security, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), and livelihoods for the future.
Every year GOALies deliver vital aid to over 10 million people in the world's most vulnerable communities. This is only possible thanks to the generosity of our supporters.
If you would like to become a GOALie you can make a donation, help set up your own fundraiser, join an event or leave a lasting legacy in your will. You can also get involved by volunteering or joining the GOAL team.
Donations & Funding
GOAL receives its funding from a diverse range of sources, including government grants institutional donors such as the European Union and the United Nations. Corporate partnerships and private foundations also play a huge part. We're hugely grateful for the support provided by the general public through fundraising events, legacy donations, and direct donations.
Your generous donation will help fund lifesaving humanitarian programmes in the world's most vulnerable communities. 99% of donations go directly to families in need across the Middle East, Africa, Ukraine and Latin America. The remaining 1% is used to cover essential operational costs.
Please also kindly note that for every euro you give at least 88 cent will go directly to support disaster-affected areas. The other 12 cent helps us raise even more funds to reach more people in emergencies and covers other essentials. In the unlikely event that funds raised exceed needs or the ability to deliver programs is prohibited, the funds raised will be committed to those programmes and populations in greatest need in line with GOAL's mission.
Yes, if you are resident in Ireland and donate over €250 in a year or €21 per month, your donations will go even further through tax-effective giving. It won't affect your tax status and only takes a minute!
Completing an Enduring Certificate (CHY3) form could increase your gift by 45% without costing you a cent more.
