"Patrycja Jurkowska has been announced as the ‘Young Chartered Star’ 2019"
GOAL Operations Accountant Patrycja Jurkowska has been announced as the winner of the ‘Young Chartered Star’ 2019 competition and will represent the Irish Chartered Accountancy profession at the ‘One Young World’ conference in London later this year. Alongside her role with GOAL Global, Patrycja is also the President of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Dublin.
Patrycja moved to Ireland fourteen years ago and worked as an au pair before a career in accounting. In 2009, Patrycja went back to college to study office management at Athlone Institute of Technology. Two years later, she transferred to The Bachelor of Arts in Accounting course where she received the Student of the Year award. In 2014, Patrycja completed a Masters of Arts in Accounting and subsequently completed her training contract with Deloitte.
Patrycja wrote an article on her career which impressed the judging panel with her activity as an advocate for the Chartered Accountancy qualification, her honest portrayal of her path to qualification, and her passion to help those less fortunate than herself. The panel also noted her involvement with the Young Professionals Committee.
Patrycja said:
“I feel honoured to hold the title of Young Chartered Star (YCS) as my Chartered Accountants Ireland qualification has already opened up so many opportunities to me. Once you achieve the qualification, it’s like a passport that can open doors to many possibilities, here in Ireland and abroad. It allows you to swiftly move between different industries and roles.
I’ll proudly represent Chartered Accountants Ireland at the One Young World Summit in London this October. I look forward to meeting other inspiring leaders from around the world who strive to make a difference. I will consider my year as YCS a success if I can inspire others to grab the Chartered Accountancy qualification and make it their own unique success story.”
