GOAL teams have been monitoring events in Iran over recent months and have actively been preparing for various scenario responses. This has involved contingency planning by teams across the Middle East covering Türkiye, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan.
GOAL is actively monitoring developments and stepping up preparedness measures across the region. Our teams are:
- Assessing potential humanitarian needs arising from instability and widescale displacement
- Coordinating with partners to ensure readiness for rapid response
- Closely tracking access constraints that may affect vulnerable populations
As tensions continue to unfold, the risk of displacement, service disruption, and wider regional impacts cannot be overlooked. GOAL stands prepared to support affected populations and neighbouring countries should the crisis deepen.
GOAL Staff visited Kapıköy Border Gate in the Van Province in Türkiye yesterday as part of GOAL’s response in the region.
