Irish humanitarian aid charity GOAL will officially launch the 2025 GOAL Mile season with Kilkenny GOAL Mile, taking place in the heart of the city at Kilkenny Castle, from 1pm to 2pm on Friday December 5th.

Organised by Jason Dempsey, AIB Kilkenny Branch Manager, the event is a wonderful opportunity for the Kilkenny community to kick off the festive season by coming together for a fun and healthy activity, while helping to launch one of Ireland’s most loved festive fundraisers and raising funds for a worthy cause.

Proudly supported by AIB, GOAL Mile has been running for over four decades and has grown to become one of Ireland’s most beloved festive traditions. Taking place in over 200 locations across the length and breadth of the country, the event helps to raise vital funds for GOAL’s life-saving humanitarian work with vulnerable communities critically affected by conflict and climate change across Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.

Jason Dempsey, AIB Kilkenny Branch Manager and Kilkenny GOAL Mile organiser said:

“As a proud supporter of GOAL, it is my privilege to organise the Kilkenny GOAL Mile, and to help GOAL kick off the 2025 GOAL Mile season. Backed once again by my colleagues at AIB, I’m so proud to stand alongside the generous community of Kilkenny to help raise vital funds and contribute to the amazing work undertaken by GOAL to assist some of the world’s most marginalised communities. AIB has backed GOAL Mile since 2021, and it has been wonderful to watch the campaign grow in that time and we are excited at the prospect of making this year’s Kilkenny GOAL Mile the biggest edition yet.”

Also commenting on AIB’s support for the GOAL Mile campaign and the upcoming Kilkenny GOAL Mile, Nafisa Brennan, Senior Fundraising Manager at GOAL, said:

“As we enter into another exciting GOAL Mile season, we are delighted to see the GOAL Mile at Kilkenny Castle coming together so well, under the leadership of Jason Dempsey and the very able and committed AIB Kilkenny team. We are looking forward to delivering memorable event in the beautiful surrounds of one of Ireland’s most historic structures. And with KCLR 96FM broadcasting live from this GOAL Mile, it all promises to be a positive, upbeat, exciting, family-friendly event.”

“With it being a lunchtime event, I encourage everyone in Kilkenny to take themselves out of the workplace for an hour on Friday December 5th and to come together with colleagues, friends and family to help create amazing Christmas memories, while making a real, tangible difference for the communities with whom GOAL works,” continued Nafisa Brennan.
