What are Cards for Humanity?

Cards for Humanity is a powerful new storytelling game designed to spark meaningful conversations and build deeper connections between people from every walk of life. Co-created by GOAL’s newly established Connection Council, the game marks the latest creative collaboration between GOAL NextGen and international creatives and cultural connectors in a multi-year journey to inspire active global citizenship in Ireland, and beyond.

As a party game for people who care about the future, Cards for Humanity invites players to debate and explore what they have in common - from childhood memories to values, hopes, and ideas for positive change. It’s available in digital format, free to download and use at home, at events or over dinner with friends.

A Collective Creation from Inspiring Cultural Voices

The Cards for Humanity project was shaped by GOAL NextGen’s Connection Council, a unique group of changemakers working at the intersection of culture and activism:

  • Leon Diop, founder of Black and Irish, dedicated to bringing awareness to and celebrating the lives of Black and Mixed Race Irish people.
  • Melanie Lynch, founder of Herstory, which champions powerful female narratives through art and education.
  • Gaff, founder of Seanchoíche, the modern Irish storytelling night.
  • Ayesha Syeddah, community manager at GORM Media a social enterprise that aims to advance belonging for marginalised communities.
  • Tebi Rex, acclaimed hip hop duo known for fearless, boundary-pushing creativity.

Together, they co-created the game’s questions and championed its message of empathy, equality and connection.

How It Works

Cards for Humanity is simple to play and rich in meaning. Each card features a question or prompt - from reflective to radical - designed to spark storytelling and sharing. Sample questions include:

  • What 3 values matter most to you and why?
  • Describe a smell that reminds you of your childhood.
  • What aspects of today's society give you hope for a brighter future?
  • What do you think it means to be a global citizen?

Whether on a couch, at a dinner party or during a community event, Cards for Humanity makes it easy to open up and connect.
