What We Do

Working across four sectors

GOAL delivers a wide range of humanitarian and development programmes. The organisation recently finished work on a Strategic Plan for the 2017-2018 period. You can read more below.

Emergency

We respond quickly and effectively to sudden and slow onset emergencies, sustaining lives and alleviating suffering. We work with affected communities to find and deliver solutions to meet their immediate needs.

Every situation is unique; we bring our global expertise and learning and use them to deliver the right response for the context. Our responses are adaptive and flexible and, as the context changes, so do our programmes to ensure the future resilience of communities.

We have the capacity to respond to emergencies throughout our existing country programmes and a global team of experts trained, equipped and ready to deploy. Ongoing context analysis and situational monitoring enables us to track crisis trends, identify new threats and, where appropriate, launch anticipatory action to prevent the full impact of crises.

Working with partners, we seek to maximise the efficiency and reach of any emergency response ensuring coordination of activities, sharing of resources and enabling those best positioned to deliver assistance. We are continually learning and developing to improve our emergency responses and serve people at their time of greatest need.
