“AT THE HEALTH CENTRE, GOAL PROVIDED ME WITH TREATMENT FOR MY DAUGHTER. NOW I AM SEEING PROGRESS, SHE IS GETTING STRONGER AND HEALTHIER”

With generous funding from the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations office, GOAL Ethiopia, in consortium with the International Rescue Committee, is implementing an Emergency Response Mechanism, designed to respond rapidly to sudden- and slow-onset disasters across Ethiopia – such as flooding, drought and displacement. Activities being implemented by the consortium include distribution of shelter and non-food items for displaced communities, improving access to clean water for drought-affected communities, and providing life-saving nutrition support for children and women suffering from acute malnutrition as a result of drought and food insecurity.

In this video, one of GOAL’s nurses describes the activities being conducted in the Afar Region, a pastoral area in the north of Ethiopia badly hit by drought since 2017 and the mother of a young child enrolled on the programme describes the support she has received from GOAL.
