As a single mother of four, Nesreen is alone is responsible for providing for her family.

“I am a single mother of four, bearing the full responsibility of raising and supporting my children on my own,” she says.

Because of this, Nesreen joined a cash-for-work programme implemented by GOAL and Naba’a, giving her an opportunity to earn an income and help meet her family’s everyday needs.

The cash-for-work programme implemented by GOAL and Naba’a provides opportunities for women-headed households to earn an income and support their families’ needs. (Saida, Lebanon, September 2026).

An Opportunity to Work and Earn

For Nesreen, the programme has provided more than financial support. She says the welcoming and inclusive working environment has also made a difference.

“Taking on this new work opportunity has been a transformative experience,” she says. “I found a highly safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.”

She particularly values the sense of teamwork among those taking part.

“The team works with great positivity and solidarity, there is no discrimination, and everyone supports one another as one team, which makes the hard work feel deeply rewarding.”

For a household relying on one income, the work is helping her manage essential expenses and provide greater stability for her four children.

Building Greater Stability

For Nesreen, having the opportunity to work has also helped strengthen her sense of independence and confidence in providing for her family.

“This opportunity has provided more than just financial relief; it has restored my sense of stability, dignity, and confidence in securing a better future for my children,” she says.
