GOAL’s mission is to work with the most vulnerable communities to help them respond to and recover from humanitarian crises, and to assist them to build transcendent solutions to mitigate poverty and vulnerability.
GOAL is a non-for-profit organization that has been working in Ethiopia for over 30 years, towards ensuring the poorest and most vulnerable in our world and those affected by humanitarian crises have access to the fundamental rights of life, including but not limited to adequate shelter, food and livelihoods, water and sanitation, nutrition, healthcare and education. GOAL implements a range of multi-sectoral development, resilience, recovery and humanitarian responses programmes by being sensitive to cross-cutting issues including gender, accountably, child protection, HIV/AIDS. Currently, we work with pastoralist, agropastoral, pastoral dropouts, rural small holder farmers, rural/urban youth and street children to respond to humanitarian crises and build resilience in Ethiopia working closely with local communities, local government, donors and other key actors. GOAL E Humanitarian Response is centered on nutrition, WASH, livelihoods, multipurpose cash, NFIs and protection interventions in country wide while the recovery and development focus on livelihoods, economic opportunities, health, health and nutrition system strengthening and WASH with solid emphasis on integrated programming and community-based approach in Oromiya regional state. The Street Children programme is implemented with local partners in Addis Ababa and Hawassa.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE |
|
Reporting to the Programmes Director, the Resource Development and Donor Engagement Coordinator (RDDE Coordinator)will take on a key role in supporting the implementation and implementation of GOAL Ethiopia’s funding strategy. The role will focus on maintaining and growing the relationship with existing donors and new business development activities, particularly focused on proposal development, positioning for funding and strategic new business projects with the aim of diversifying the current grant portfolio to multi-year high-value funding for development projects to balance the humanitarian response portfolio. The postholder is responsible for developing new proposals that incorporate the lessons learned from previous programmes and other partners. This ensures that the proposals are relevant, effective and aligned with the best practices in the field.
The Resource Development and Donor Engagement Coordinator (RDDE Coordinator)will also seek to develop influential and strategic relations with other INGOs and development actors with the aim of forming consortia and partnership with the objective of complementing each other’s comparative and competitive advantages or geographical locations of operation in responding to calls for funding proposals.
The Resource Development and Donor Engagement Coordinator (RDDE Coordinator) will support the program staff to grow GOAL Ethiopia’s income and partnerships at country level to resource our program strategy and ambitions. The person will be responsible for devising and implementing the Country Funding Strategy and will lead on donor engagement, donor relationship management and raising restricted income through existing and new funding streams.
The postholder will be expected to work closely with the funding and business development team at HQ in achieving the country funding strategy and be the primary link for accessing technical fundraising assistance and support from GOAL’s fundraising architecture and donor intelligence gathering outside of Ethiopia. |

Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the organization's goals and priorities. Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, potential funding sources, and partnership opportunities.
· New business development: Identify and pursue diverse funding sources, including institutional donors, corporate partnerships, and innovative financing mechanismsand tracks funding and partnership opportunities in a systematic manner in pursuit of supporting the country programme, including scoping new consortium partnerships with local stakeholders. · Networking and Representation: Represent GE at relevant forums, conferences, and events to build the organization's visibility and network with potential partners. Responsible for managing and building GOAL Ethiopia’s relationships with existing donor representatives in the country. Proactively engages on a strategic basis with institutional donors at country level to facilitate technical programme exchanges, influence policy and thinking, and identify key areas of potential cooperation, including program funding. Work with the Country Leadership Team, Programme and Finance teams to ensure an active donor engagement plan is in place and updated monthly.
· Capacity building: Undertakes capacity assessments and provides technical training, support and advice for staff on how to work with donor funding in country. · Coordination: Links with the HQ FBD unit to access intelligence, opportunities and skills, brokering assistance from programme technical team. Supports in-country staff to adhere to funding policies and guidelines of GOAL. Collaborates with other GOAL countries to co-create or develop global or multi-country funding opportunities.
