Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced IT Security Engineer to join our IT Services team, this role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of security activities, from risk management and incident response to strengthening controls and supporting global IT teams.
Reporting to the Global IT Services Manager, you will work closely with internal stakeholders to enhance security practices, respond to emerging threats, and ensure a consistent and robust approach to information security. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional with a proactive mindset and a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
Information Security & Risk Management
- Support the lifecycle management of information security policies and documentation, ensuring they remain accurate and up to date
- Identify and implement improvements in information security risk management across GOAL’s systems
- Review and recommend security controls, systems, and enhancements to ensure consistent protection across all IT environments
- Investigate and resolve security exceptions, incidents, and alerts as required
- Deliver and manage organisation-wide information security awareness programmes
- Assess the security of new IT products and services, including conducting security assessments
- Provide security input and support to IT projects as required
Global IT Support
- Act as an escalation point for in country IT technicians via email and remote access
- Collaborate with in-country IT teams to resolve cybersecurity issues
- Provide guidance and support to IT teams, SMTs, and users across global offices
Incident Management
- Log, track, and manage cybersecurity incidents through to resolution using the Service Desk system
- Provide timely updates to users and maintain accurate ticket records
- Escalate incidents to relevant internal teams or external partners, ensuring effective handover
Documentation & Reporting
- Document processes and procedures clearly and consistently
- Develop user and support documentation as needed
- Maintain the knowledge base with solutions and updates
- Keep accurate records of hardware and software assets
- Provide regular updates to the IT Services Manager
Requirements:
- Some previous experience in a similar IT services/security role
- Previous experience processing and prioritising IT services tickets
- Ability to adapt to evolving IT environments and learn new technologies
- Experience in managing technology adoption projects
- Ability to write and maintain IT services catalogue documentations
- Strong customer service experience and ability to deal with diverse users
- Microsoft certification or extensive work experience in Microsoft products.
Desirable:
- ITIL certification
- Experience in developing user training materials
- Experience in developing power apps solutions
- CompTIA Security+ certification
- CompTIA Network+ certification
