Job Purpose
GOAL is hiring for an experienced Donor Engagement Coordinator on a 12-month FTC (maternity cover role). This is a key position within our small, high-impact development team supporting GOAL’s engagement with institutional donors across Europe, with a core focus on the European Commission (EC) and European Union (EU). You will play a central role in securing and managing funding from government and multilateral donors, while working closely with country teams and senior stakeholders across the organisation.
Reporting to the Director of Development (UK), this role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in NGO institutional funding to contribute to our strategic growth and impact at scale.
*GOAL offers flexible working with our hybrid model, we require our HQ employees to work 2 days per week from our office in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin. If you are based in the UK, the role will be fully remote with occasional travel to HQ in Dublin**
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Lead and support the development of high-quality proposals, bids and budgets for institutional donors
- Identify and track funding opportunities, donor priorities and market trends across Europe
- Work closely with country teams to develop funding strategies and pipeline opportunities
- Coordinate proposal development processes across multiple stakeholders and partners
- Support partnerships and consortia bids, including collaboration with external organisations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners and internal stakeholders
- Contribute to strengthening internal systems, tools and capacity for business development
- Represent GOAL in relevant donor meetings, forums and networking opportunities
Skills & Qualification's
- 5 + years’ experience in institutional fundraising, business development, or grant management within an NGO or similar environment
- Proven experience supporting or leading successful funding strategy, proposals and competitive bids with government and/or multilateral donors and institutions.
- Strong understanding of institutional donor requirements, compliance and funding cycles
- Experience working with cross-functional and international programme teams
- Strong proposal writing, editing and budget development skills
- Ability to analyse donor strategies, funding trends and translate these into pipeline opportunities
- Experience coordinating complex processes with multiple stakeholders and deadlines
Desirable
- Experience working with European institutional donors (e.g. ECHO, EU, bilateral donors)
- Familiarity with humanitarian and development programming contexts
- Strong interest in GOAL’s mission and international development sector
