Job Purpose 
Reporting to the Head of Communications, the Digital Communications Lead will play a key role in developing our digital communications and content strategies. You’ll spearhead the development of fresh, relevant content for the GOAL website and various digital platforms.The role involves leading research, creation of content and assets (from concept through to publication), editing, sub-editing, quality assurance, content marketing and performance analysis (across an inventory of online channels)

This role requires a digital creative, an individual who can demonstrate their versatility and ability to simplify and explain complex issues to a varied audience, ideally you’ll have some previous experience with a humanitarian organisation or be passionate about utilising your skills to make a difference.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Digital Strategy

  • Lead the implementation of GOAL’s Digital Communications and Content Strategies
  • Provide expert communications guidance and quality assurance for all fundraising campaigns from inception to delivery
  • Monitor and research digital trends to ensure GOAL remains at the forefront of innovation
  • Manage relationship with key external digital agencies and suppliers
  • Promote best practice and build digital communications capability within GOAL teams globally

Content Creation & Channel Management

  • Develop engaging and innovative content across all digital channels
  • Ensure all content adheres to GOAL’s ethical storytelling standards, brand guidelines, and values
  • Drive integrated digital campaigns across GOAL’s digital channels
  • Assist the Fundraising team to manage subscriber lists, supporter communications and donor journeys
  • Manage GOAL’s Digital Asset Management system and content generation processes
  • Manage social media content calendar aligned with GOAL’s strategic priorities
  • Measure and evaluate performance of social media and digital fundraising campaigns,
  • Ensure website, social and email queries reach relevant departments

Website Management

  • Deliver optimised landing pages for fundraising, advocacy, and country teams
  • Ensure all website content is accurate, up to date, and engaging
  • Manage SEO and GEO strategies to increase search engine visibility
  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve user experience and site performance through regular
  • reporting and analysis
  • Ensure the website complies with privacy regulations (GDPR, data protection, and cookies
  • policies)
  • Work with IT, Finance, and external agencies to maintain secure donation systems and
  • integrations

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in digital content management ideally within the Humanitarian or non-profit sector
  • Significant experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) WordPress an advantage.
  • Demonstrable experience using design suites such as Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Canva.
  • Versatile writing style that to reflect a varied audience
  • Ability to simplify and explain complex issues and procedures
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and respond to new opportunities/events
  • Have a broad understanding of copyright laws

Desirable

  • Proven track record in the development of new content including graphics, banners and data
  • visualisations etc
  • Previous experience working with a humanitarian / international development NGO is highly
  • desirable
  • Experience and demonstrable skills creating videos for online use

**GOAL offers staff flexible working with our hybrid model, we require our HQ employees to work 2 days per week from our office in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin**
