About the Role

GOAL is seeking a Global Citizenship Officer to support the development and delivery of GOAL’s Global Citizenship youth and public engagement programme. This role focuses on empowering young people and engaging the wider Irish public to understand and act on global issues related to GOAL’s work. The position will also provide administrative and research support to other teams within GOAL as required.

 

Main Duties

GOAL NextGen Public Engagement Programme

  • Create digital content for public engagement campaigns.
  • Design and produce promotional materials for campaigns across digital platforms, traditional media, and outreach activities.
  • Develop activation spaces and materials for nationwide festivals, exhibitions, and events.
  • Support coordination of public engagement events and external outreach, including GOAL’s corporate engagement programme.

GOAL NextGen Youth Programme

  • Identify, recruit, and retain youth participants annually.
  • Develop curriculum and resources to build knowledge on global citizenship and sustainable development, and skills in facilitation, intercultural communication, project management, and critical thinking.
  • Coordinate outreach events, activities, bursaries, and youth exchange visits for the NextGen Youth Network.
  • Build and maintain relationships with individuals, national youth groups, third-level institutions, societies, and other relevant stakeholders.

Global Citizenship Education (GCE) Programme

  • Coordinate and co-facilitate GCE workshops and engagements with primary school students and teachers nationwide.
  • Develop promotional and awareness-raising materials for schools.
  • Manage administrative tasks including workshop bookings, coordination of external facilitators, and reporting.

 

Requirements

  • Passion for youth engagement, global citizenship, sustainable development, humanitarian and social justice issues.
  • Some previous experience in global citizenship, youth work, public engagement, events, external relations, campaigning, and/or marketing (voluntary or professional).
  • Knowledge of digital media and experience managing social media and online communication platforms.
  • Creativity in multimedia and social media content creation for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral & written), with the ability to simplify complex messages for varied audiences.
  • Proven analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent IT and graphic design skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.
  • Strong event management and organisational skills.

 

Desirable

  • Commitment to GOAL’s mission and strategic priorities.
  • Facilitation skills.
  • Experience working with young people from diverse and underrepresented communities.
  • Familiarity with Power BI dashboards and Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

 

*GOAL offers staff flexible working with our hybrid model, we require our HQ employees to work 2 days per week from our office in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin**
