Alan Vard is a marketing and events professional with over 20 years’ experience in the area. He started his career with Coca-Cola and worked across a range of marketing-related roles. This included Event Marketing Manager, where he managed Coca-Cola’s promotional team and took charge of all sponsorships and events. He ran his own company - Vard Promotional Solutions – which specialised in promotional materials and services marketing, before joining GOAL in 2013. As National Campaigns Manager, Alan is responsible for all GOAL’s fundraising campaigns and events.
Brian Fagan has been volunteering and working for GOAL since 2001. He has worked for us in several countries, including Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, DRC, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Haiti. In all that time, he has raised awareness and funding for GOAL’s work back home in Ireland, most significantly by organising the GOAL Mile in Mullingar, which in 2017 will celebrate its 17th anniversary, but also through balls, raffles and various collections.
Head of Programmes
Fiona has been with GOAL for over 25 years and has extensive field and head office experience in a variety of emergency and complex post- conflict situations. Her skills include experience with programme evaluation, monitoring, implementation, and planning. She has held various field posts including Medical Coordinator in Swaziland, and Country Director in Sudan, Rwanda, Angola, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka. As part of GOALs technical / surge team, Fiona was integral in establishing emergency response programmes in Darfur, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zimbabwe and most recently the Ebola Response in Sierra Leone. Global Food Security and Livelihoods Advisor
Alemayehu Kuma is GOAL’s Global Food Security and Livelihoods Advisor, and provides organisation-wide strategic, technical and programming guidance in this critical area.
From Ethiopia, Alemayehu has spent more than 20 years in the humanitarian and development sectors across various countries, including South Sudan, Uganda, Djibouti, Kenya, Ethiopia, West Africa and The Middle East.

Alison Cowzer is co-founder of East Coast Bakehouse, and Managing Director of The Company of Food.
As an investor and Dragon, on RTE’s Dragon’s Den series, she has made investments in a number of start-up enterprises.
Alison is also a director of Women for Election and The Ronald Mc Donald House Charity.

Alison joined GOAL in November 2015 with over seven years PQE. Before this, she acted as General Counsel with Calor Gas, Ireland. She has previous experience as a Corporate Associate, gaining in-depth experience in M&A, commercial contracts and corporate restructuring, equity fundraising, corporate governance, compliance and general legal advice with top tier law firms, Maples & Calder’s and Matheson's Corporate Finance Department. LLM in European Law, University College Dublin; Bachelor of Corporate Law, National University of Ireland, Galway; and Legal French Diploma. Qualified solicitor and member of the Law Society of Ireland. Also member (non-practising) of the Law Society of England and Wales.
