Access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation is critical for health, human dignity, and economic productivity.
In Uganda, GOAL implements a comprehensive package of WASH interventions across five districts: Bugiri and Namayingo in the South East, and Agago, Abim and Kaabong in Northern Uganda and Karamoja.

1. SAFE WATER SUPPLY
Construction and rehabilitation of water points through the Demand Responsive Approach.
2. OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Training and working with Water User Committees to ensure water point sustainability while pursuing a market approach with local handpump mechanic associations.
3. SANITATION PROMOTION
Using Community Led Total Sanitation marketing to increase rural sanitaion and health outcomes.
4. HYGIENE PROMOTION
Engaging in Community Conversations using behavioural change methodology to empower communities to implement their own hygiene solutions.
5. PROMOTING COORDINATION & NETWORKING
Working at district, national and international levels to support coordination, promote good practise and stregnthen institutions.
Integrating methods to address key issues such as chronic malnutrition, reproduction health (including HIV), disaster risk reduction and alchohol.
