for Global Change

Below are the criteria the judges will be marking each project against. Each category will have equal weighting. Judges will take into account class age and ability.

• Action: Have you taken impactful action to contribute to the Global Goals?
• Knowledge: Does the project show a good understanding of the issue/issues your chosen Global Goal(s) are targeting?
• Teamwork: Does the project demonstrate that the class worked well together to deliver the action?
• Creativity: Is your visual submission (photos, poster or video) presented in a creative way that can be easily shared? Remember GOAL Changemakers aims to spread your fantastic ideas on how to contribute to the Global Goals.

1. Entries from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland will be accepted.
2. Each entry can be undertaken by a class, an English as an Additional Language group, Breakfast, Homework or After-School Club.
3. Entries must be completed by pupils in the 3rd to 6th class age bracket.
4. All entries must be guided and submitted by a teacher.
5. We welcome submissions from special schools.
6. All individuals who work on an entry must be registered pupils in a primary or special school.
7. Use of projects from other initiatives may be submitted but must demonstrate clear linkages to the Global Goals and all other Award criteria.
8. The action in the submission may date back to the 2018/2019 school year but no further.
9. Projects based on actions that took place during any year before this will not be eligible.
10. Schools may submit multiple projects however, there is a limit of one project per class.
11. Any supporting audio-visual materials must be no longer than 4 minutes.
12. One project from each of the four provinces, Munster, Leinster, Connacht and Ulster, will be judged a Regional Winner.
13. All participating schools will be contacted and receive the GOAL Changemakers School Certificate.
14. GOAL can only accept entries that are made on the submission form supplied in your award pack (also available on goalglobal.wpengine.com/goalchangemakers), and accompanied by either photos, a poster or a video. Please send your submissions by post or email to goalchangemakers@goal.ie or GOAL, PO Box 19, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin.
15. GOAL cannot accept responsibility for lost, damaged or delayed entries.
16. Upon receipt of a project GOAL will contact the correspondence address/e-mail to confirm receipt. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt. Please request confirmation of receipt if you do not receive correspondence stating as such within one week of submission.
17. GOAL cannot accept submissions received after 17:30 on the 20th December 2019.
18. Classes with a child of a parent on the judging panel may not compete.
19. It is imperative that all projects must be the pupils’ original work.
20. The judges and partner organisations will not enter correspondence with regards to judges’ decisions, and the decision of the judges for all award entries will be final.
21. GOAL will not return submissions or their accompanying visuals unless requested to by the participating group.
22. By submitting an entry, entrants agree to the publication of the project idea by GOAL.
23. No cash alternative in whole or in part of the prize will be offered.
24. Submission of an entry is taken as consent for photos and/or footage of projects to be used for promotional purposes by GOAL.
25. All insurance liabilities during the winning classes trips lie with their respective schools.
26. GOAL reserves the right to amend any part of these terms and conditions as required without notice.
27. All entrants agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this award. Failure on the part of any entrants to adhere to any these terms and conditions will render the entry in question invalid.
28. GOAL advises that all participating schools seek permission for any identifiable visuals of minors. Upon receipt of a submission GOAL assumes permission has been granted for any visuals contained. Names of individual minors should not accompany identifiable visuals.
